Students at The Bayshore School are required to wear a uniform. Students wearing inappropriate clothing will be sent home to change or given the appropriate clothing (if it is available in the office).
OUTERWEAR: Students are allowed to wear plain hoodies (or a Bayshore hoodie) over a uniform dress, but hoods will not be worn in the classrooms. Any type of sweatshirt and sweater is allowed. Logos, designs, etc., that represent drug, alcohol, and/or tobacco products or other unacceptable organizations are inappropriate and violate school policy.
HEADGEAR: Hats, caps, hoods, visors, beanies, scarves, and sports headbands are not allowed to be worn in the school building during school. Headwear associated with religious purposes is exempt. Students in violation of this policy may have the head covering confiscated. It is important to understand that this policy provides the ability for staff to identify persons who are not Bayshore community members and might be trespassing or posing as students.
FREE DRESS/SPIRIT DAYS: Jeans may be worn but cannot have rips or holes. All bottoms must be at the waist; undergarments may not be visible. All clothing must be appropriate. All shirts must fit properly and fall to the waistband. Tank tops, spaghetti straps, and plunging necklines are not acceptable. Headgear restrictions still apply on free dress days unless the spirit day permits (ex, Crazy Hat Day). Note: All requirements stated above still apply to free dress/spirit days.
The administration reserves the right to determine whether clothing is inappropriate.
