Bayshore Elementary School District

Community Schools

The Bayshore School is committed to providing the best possible education and support for our students and is in the process of transforming our school into a Community School. The Community Schools Framework is built on the integration and alignment of 4 pillars: Integrated Student Supports, Family and Community Engagement, Expanded Learning Opportunities, and Collaborative Leadership with the goal of improved student access to learning and stronger communities whose aspirations are uplifted.

In the spring of 2023 we received a 2 year Community Schools Planning Grant to set us on the path of becoming a community school.  During the 2023-2024 school year we began the planning process by collecting information from all stakeholders about the needs, wants, strengths, and barriers to the community's success to thoughtfully engage in dialogue about the gaps that exist and the supports needed to lessen those gaps. In the 2024-2025 school year (yr 2) we will be using all of the input we gathered to form goals and to complete the next steps in the planning process in order to apply for the implementation grant in February of 2025.
